BURGER

The ingredients

  • 2 thick slices white bread
  • 30 g melted butter
  • Handful of grated mozzarella
  • Handful of grated cheddar
  • 4 thick slices of pastrami
  • 30 g honey mustard
  • a few cornichon pickles

The recipe

Brush the bread on both sides with melted butter.

Place the grated mozzarella, two slices of pastrami and the cornichons on one slice of bread, followed by the remaining two slices of pastrami and the grated cheddar.

Top with the second slice of bread. Using a large spatula, place the sandwich carefully in a pre-heated frying pan.

Sear over a high heat and cover. After a few minutes, remove the cover, turn the sandwich over and replace the cover.

Once both sides are golden brown, remove to a chopping board and divide into two triangles. 

In a hot pan, flash-fry the ‘hypotenuse’ of the triangles in a hot frying pan to melt any remaining unmelted cheese.

Serve with home-made tomato ketchup.
