The Loire Valley Wine Route is a good way to get to know this great winegrowing region in all its diversity. The Loire Valley from Chalonnes-sur-Loire to Sully-sur-Loire has recently been listed as a UNESCO world heritage site.

There are numerous itineraries based around Nantes, Angers, Saumur and Tours designed to help you explore this area with its rich history (including the Châteaux on the Loire) and fascinating terroir. Whether you travel through the vineyards by car, by bike or on foot, or prefer to sail down the river in a toue (a traditional boat), there is so much to see in France’s 3rd largest appellation vineyard area.
