TOURAINE NOBLE JOUE

Région de production

Did you know ?

References were made to Touraine Noble Joué as early as the court of Louis XI, although the region was at the height of its fame in the 19th century. AOC status was first requested in 1939, but the advent of war led to the application being forgotten. The vineyards were partially destroyed, while creeping urbanisation ate away more land until the vineyards ceased to exist. In 1975, however, winegrowing was relaunched by a group of vignerons, and local wines have found new success with the wine lovers of Tours.
